General mechanic. Keeps systems up and running, ensuring interchanges have power and heat. Also keeps key components of snow and ice removal functioning (brine pumps, truck heater stations, fueling sites, emergency power, etc.). Must have at least 4 years of satisfactory experience working under a journey-level electrician, which would provide training equivalent to that gained in an apprenticeship program. It is desirable that candidates have some minor experience in work requiring skills in other trades. Program aide. Will function as a paraprofessional in the Public Information Office. Maintaining, logging, tracking and responding to requests under the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), as well as maintaining FOIL files and handling any monies involved in the process. Producing monthly report to the Commissioner and the compilation of division submissions for the Commissioner's Weekly Bullets report to the Governor. Responsible for reviewing, editing, approving and processing any changes/printing orders for forms. Assisting in the preparation and dissemination of news releases and media clip packets. Handling between 50 to 100 requests per month for eligible list information from candidates who have taken an exam. Developmental intern. Assist with the organization of plant drawings and documents. Analyze, create and review designs, write reports and documents for engineering tasks. We are looking for college students entering in their second or third year with a minimum 3.0 GPA in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's degree program. Solid technical background and advanced knowledge with techniques and the use of software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project Schedule. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Good organization skills with the ability to work alone with minimal direction. Understanding of CAD drawings and some exposure to print reading is desirable. Billing specialist. Preparing and processing bills for electric service to business customers; handling selected customer service duties; preparing federal and state statistical reports; maintaining reports pertaining to energy production, disposition and billing revenues; preparing information responses to electric utility industry organizations; and handling internal/external information requests. Must possess a High School degree, along with at least 6 months of experience working with statistical data in a sophisticated computerized environment. Some college experience is desired. Knowledge of the utility industry is desired. Excellent adaptability, planning, organizational, verbal and written skills are essential. Proficiency in MS Excel and Word is required. Laboratory animal caretaker. Perform tasks involved with the treatment, handling, observation, and feeding of laboratory and/or large farm animals; clean and maintain the animal facilities; keep accurate and detailed records; provide routine maintenance for equipment; and perform additional duties as assigned. The most preferred candidate would possess 2 years experience working with laboratory animals in a research setting; experience in the management of, and record keeping for, a rodent breeding colony; and/or training in the management of laboratory animals in quarantine and/or barrier setting.
